What We Build

USA Weld Express fabricates complete pump, meter, and process skids that integrate piping, structure, and equipment into one packaged unit. From our Houston facility, we build, assemble, and test these skids so they arrive ready for site hookup. A process skid is a self-contained module — equipment mounted on a structural base, tied together with fabricated piping, ready to drop in and connect. It packages a function (pumping, metering, a process step) into one deliverable. Building the whole package in the shop means the piping, structure, and equipment are integrated and tested together under controlled conditions, backed by our welding, testing, and quality documentation. We serve oil and gas, chemical processing, and industrial clients across Texas who need complete process skids delivered on time and ready to install and commission.

Our Work in the Shop

In Depth

Precision CNC Laser Cutting in Houston, Texas

Pump, meter, and process skids are where USA Weld Express brings everything together — piping, structure, and equipment integrated into one packaged, tested module, delivered ready for site hookup.

What Is a Process Skid?

A process skid is a self-contained, pre-engineered module that packages a piece of process functionality onto a single structural base. Equipment — pumps, meters, filters, or process components — is mounted on the skid and interconnected with fabricated piping, so the whole function arrives as one unit ready to install. Instead of building up a pump station or metering system from individual parts in the field, the entire package is fabricated, assembled, and tested in the shop, then set in place and connected. Pump skids, meter skids, and process skids all follow this integrated, modular approach.

Integrating Piping, Structure & Equipment

The essence of a process skid is integration — combining structure, piping, and equipment into a coordinated whole. We fabricate the structural base to support and align the equipment, mount the pumps, meters, or process components, and tie everything together with fabricated piping and connections. Every element is designed and built to work together, so the finished skid is a functioning package, not a collection of parts. Doing this integration in the shop, where access and conditions are ideal, produces a tighter, higher-quality result than field assembly.

Pump, Meter & Process Applications

Pump skids package pumping systems — pumps, drivers, suction and discharge piping, and controls — into a ready-to-run unit. Meter skids integrate metering equipment and the piping and connections around it for accurate measurement. Process skids package a process step, combining the equipment and piping that perform a specific function. In each case, the skid delivers a complete, tested subsystem, letting you add capability to a facility by setting and connecting a module rather than building it up on-site.

Shop-Assembled & Tested

The biggest advantage of a process skid is that it’s built and proven in the shop. We assemble the complete package and test it — pressure-testing the piping, verifying welds with NDT, and checking the integration — under controlled conditions before it ships. That means problems are found and fixed in the shop, not discovered during field commissioning. The skid arrives as a verified, functioning unit, backed by our certified weld procedures, testing, and documentation, ready to install with confidence.

Ready for Site Hookup

A finished process skid is delivered ready for site hookup — set it in place, connect the inlet and outlet, tie in utilities and controls, and commission. Because the piping, structure, and equipment are already integrated and tested, field work shrinks from building a system to connecting a module. That dramatically cuts field labor and installation time, reduces field welding, and gets the capability online faster. For new construction and expansions alike, skids turn a complex field build into a quick, predictable installation.
