Steel Storage Tank Fabrication

Storage tanks hold oil, water, process fluids, and other contents, often for years and in demanding conditions, so they must be fabricated to contain reliably and safely. A tank is essentially a rolled shell with welded seams, a bottom, a top, and the fittings and nozzles the application requires. Building one well demands accurate rolling to form true, round shell courses, sound welding to join them leak-tight, and testing to confirm integrity. We bring all of those capabilities together to fabricate storage tanks built to last.

Rolled Shells, Welded Seams

Tank shells start as flat plate rolled into cylindrical courses. Using our plate rolling capability, we form shell courses to the required diameter with a true, even curve, so they stack and fit accurately. The long seams and course-to-course joints are then welded — submerged arc welding is ideal for the long seams, laying down deep, consistent welds efficiently. The result is a shell whose seams are sound and uniform, built from accurately rolled courses that form a true, round tank.

Working from your specifications, we build a tank sized and configured for the fluid it will hold and the way it will be used, with the connections, manways, and features required.
